Chief Executive Officer

Sally Lawrence's initial involvement with art started with her own photography and has evolved thanks to her involvement with the Arts Commission.  She believes that Art 2021 will benefit both Tehachapi and the art community by demonstrating the beauty of Greater Tehachapi through en plein air painting.  Sally Lawrence has lived in Tehachapi since 1996 and brings entrepreneur experience to the commission as a successful local business owner and broker at Advantage Real Estate.

Vice President

Donald Towns has over 40 years of art experience including archtectural illustration, animation background, digital and fine arts an art director with Walt Disney and other studios. He serves as the Co-Chair of the Tehachapi Arts Commission and is a digital fine artist member of the California Art Club. Towns says Tehachapi "posseses an excellent variety of inland terrain to capture on canvas for artists and collectors alike that would showcase the beauty of our area and heighten our art interest and variety here."

Chief Fincial Officer

Dwight Dreyer is a sculptor and a member of the National Sculpture Society,  an artist member of the California Art Club, founder of Dreyer Fine Arts Studio, an art instructor and art collector. He has lived in Keene, California for 36 years and is looking forward to Art 2021 because exposure to fine art brings not only new local exposure, but increased tax revenue and a national audience. Says Dwight "the purpose of art is not to portray, but to evoke."

Secretary

Laura Dreyer is a past Kern County Chair for the California Art Club,  co-owner of Dreyer Fine Arts and an art collector. She has resided in Keene, California for 13 years and is looking forward to bringing fine artists and collectors to Tehachapi to increase art awareness in the community. 

Director

Jim Wilson has been an art dealer since 1980 and formerly owned a small retail gallery in Anchorage, Alaska. After moving to Tehachapi in 2005 he served as the manager of the CrossRoads Art Gallery until it closed in 2012.  Wilson believes Art 2021 will be a wonderful opportunity for Tehachapi to be exposed to en plein air painting  and the start of other art events in the future. 

Director

Pat Doody was an art major during her time at UC Santa Barbara and is an art quilter and collector. A 10-year resident of Tehachapi, Pat believes plein air painters will be excited about the diverse and unique landscapes of Greater Tehachapi and feels Art 2021 will bring a whole new level of tourism to the area.  Pat serves as the President of the Tehachapi Tourism Commission and a writer at The Loop Newspaper and Hilltop Publishing.
