Cultural

Nestled in the mountains between the Central Valley and the Mojave Desert, Tehachapi is a community built on creativity, connection, and small-town spirit. From its historic downtown and local galleries to murals, music, and public art, the arts play an important role in shaping the identity of the city. Art in Tehachapi is more than decoration, it reflects the area’s history, landscapes, culture, and the people who call it home. Through community events, educational programs, and public installations, local artists help bring residents and visitors together while preserving the unique character and creative energy that make Tehachapi special.

Artists' Studio Tour 2026

 What an incredible day!

A heartfelt thank you to everyone who joined us for the Artists’ Studio Tour on May 30th. Your presence made the day truly special — for the artists and for our entire community.

We hope you discovered something that surprised you, had a conversation that inspired you, and maybe even brought a little piece of Tehachapi’s creative spirit home with you. That handmade bowl, that painting, that turned wood piece — it carries the story of the hands that made it, and now it’s part of your story too.

To our talented artists who opened their doors and shared their passion — thank you. You are the heart of this community.

We’ll see you again next year.

A special shout out to Dwight & Laura Dreyer, Founders of the Tehachapi Arts Commission along with TAC Board Directors, Brent Bradley and Pat Doody including Jim Wilson, TAC Advisor who game to support the event.

A very special thanks to our Cultural Partners, South Street Digital, Gallery N’ Gifts and Triassic Winery for hosting artists and attendees at the end of the day.
