Artist Statement:
There are many beautiful scenes for artists to capture but once in a while you come across one that speaks of something more. One that speaks of strength and tenacity. One that has stories to tell. This massive Sycamore has seen decades come and go. It has survived drought, floods, and wildfires and through it all it has grown bigger, stronger. The King Sycamore.

Artist Statement:
Nothing speaks to the renewal of the natural world like wildflowers growing in abundance. But, what struck me about this scene was that in following the trail of color, my eyes were lifted up the hillside to the silhouette of the Oak and beyond to the Creator whose gift the scene was.

Artist Statement:
It isn’t often that I get to witness the fleeting moments when the sun has just risen and shines on a moon that hasn’t quite set. In this plein air piece I tried to capture the light and subtle flashes of color that exist in that transient setting. I see moments like this as gifts. I hope the viewers can experience that gift through my painting of it.
