“My Own Frontier”
12X16 Oils $4800
Artist Statement:
A frontier represents unchartered territory. It could be a remote piece of land or a new field of study. Living a frontier lifestyle refers to facing challenges not otherwise encountered so far in one's life. The western way of life, not previously experienced, on the back of a horse, riding in pastoral ranch land can create that feeling of one's being the most alive. Living a western lifestyle one has personally created can be uniquely satisfying.

“Look Before You Leap”
18X24 Oils $7500
Artist Statement:
My cousin and husband have an amazing farm in Lebanon, MO. They raise many kinds of farm animals. One of the tasks required is to move the sheep from one pasture to another to sustain the grass. I was taken with this image of the sheep slowly wending their way to their new home. It had been raining and a shallow creek sprang up. Sheep don’t like to get their feet wet so several enterprising sheep decided to try jumping the water. Alas, they were not able to clear the wide stretch of water and ended up wet anyway. These four tried a group effort but without success. Fortunately the warm day quickly dried their wet feet.

“Newborn”
12X9 Oils $3500
Artist Statement:
Driving towards the designated paint-out destination, I notice a mare and foal in a pasture alongside the road. The foal looks brand new. I plan to stop in the evening to get some photos. Sure enough, the little one is just one day old! Momma is not happy to have an unfamiliar person peering over the fence. After getting permission from the owner, a couple of hours are spent in bliss taking photos of this little one and several other one-to-eight month old colts and fillies.
