Welcome to the home of the Tehachapi Arts Commission. Our first annual nationally-recognized show Art 2021, paint-out and juried art show brought 38 nationally-recognized artists to Tehachapi, California for an en plein air event capturing the diverse landscape of this region. The artwork was then completed and returned to Tehachapi for an exhibition and sale that featured 108 paintings. Over 200 visitors, artists, and collectors were involved in the public show.

Laura Wambsgans began landscape oil painting sixteen years ago, after working as the managing director of a major recording studio and then as a sculptor for two decades. Wambsgans strives to capture the effect of light on the land, though color and paint quality.

Peter Adams is a past President of the California Art Club and has been an oil painter for over 25 years with a recent transition to mixed media.
Lynn is a pastel painter taking cues from several generations that came before her.
This painting depicts a view of Oak Flat near my home located between Stallion Springs and Bear Valley. It is one of my favorite views in the Tehachapi area and one that I enjoy on morning walks. I am particularly interested in the perspective provided by the even distribution of the large valley oaks across the pasture.Write your caption here

Linda Brown favors painting the unspoiled landscapes of the Western U.S.
Naomi concentrates on Southwest landscapes and Western scenes as well as inspirational/religious paintings.
Nikita Budkov’s painting style is based on contemporary realism, and his visual storytelling often includes mythological and ancient symbolic elements.
Chris Burgan is the co-chair of the San Gabriel/Pomona Valley chapter of the California Arts Club.

Terry Chacon is an award-winning artist, painter and sculptor from Redlands, CA.
Tina Chong paints in oil and watercolors. Her style ranges from representational to impressionistic. She focuses on painting the southwestern United States, seeking out wild corners which can be surprisingly close to urban centers.
Karl Dempwolf is a contemporary California plein air painter who is known for his California landscapes.
Lee works in the traditional art mediums of drawing and painting working primarily in plein air landscape, impressionist style.
Sandy Fisher specializes in many forms of art including photography, painting, scratchboard, macrame, needlework and stained glass.
Patricia paints in pastels and is drawn to scenes of the southwest deserts and coastlines.
Marian Fortunati is a California impressionist who enjoys painting outdoors, Fortunati uses oil paints to create interesting experiments with texture and color using her outdoor sketches as references for larger studio work.
Kristen's artwork now is often inspired by experiences she has had on the trail with her horse Penny and by visits to the nearby Sierra mountains and deserts. Her goals as an artist are to continue developing her skills in fine art, share her work with others who appreciate the Western lifestyle, and participate in Western-themed art events across the US. Rich Gallego has been painting the landscape since 1996. His longtime love of nature's wild places have taken him far afield from Arizona's Canyon de Chelly to the beaches of Hawaii.

Annette Hammer has been an artist for over 50 years. Selected as a guest artist for the Autry Museum Masters of the American West Fine Art Exhibition and Sale held each February. Awards include Award of Excellence in 2018 and Award of Merit in 2019 in the Pensacola Great Gulfcoast Arts Festival.
Nita Harper is an award winning artist living in the desert of Southern California. The granddaughter of a professional artist who showed his work with painters like Edgar Payne, Victor Higgins and Walter Ufer, she was inspired at an early age, and has been painting most of her life.
Derek Harrison is an artist working in the realist genre creating dramatic figurative and landscape works.
A lifelong painter and native Californian, Debra works both in the studio and en plein air, painting throughout the region. Recent painting adventures include a pack trip to Lake Ediza in the Eastern Sierras, and trips to Yosemite National Park, Joshua Tree National Park, and Bishop, California.
I prefer to paint directly from nature and I love being outdoors where I can see, hear, feel, smell and even taste the scene around me. For me, the painting is a translation of nature and my experience of it. If I am successful, I take the viewer with me to feel the moment.Write your caption here

Chuck Kovacic's paintings investigate a variety of subjects rendered in the "plein air" style of the post-Impressionists. Chuck is an Honor Court member of the Mid-Valley Art League and in 2017 was named to Signature status in the California Art Club.

Jeanette's mother was a professional potter and Jeanette grew up in her studio. She fell in love with watercolors and landscapes when she moved to California. I love ART
I never really know at first which direction. I am going to go. with a painting. I experiment with different brushes and looks until I get a feel for the right path. Once found, I start at a comfortable pace but rapidly transition to a faster pace.

Karen Winter's work is inspired by the natural world. Whether the medium she chooses is watercolor, oil, acrylic or pastel. She is most interested in capturing the quality of light as it defines a landscape, a still life or floral portrait.
